Save the Children has been operating in Ukraine since 2014. Their teams are ready to provide life-saving assistance such as food, water, cash transfers and safe havens.
More broadly, the organisation’s specialist teams are providing children with access to safe, inclusive, quality education and are working with schools and community centres to help children overcome the mental and psychological impacts of their experiences of conflict and violence.
The Child Emergency Fund allows them to respond wherever the need is greatest. It helps to reach children quickly with the essentials they need to survive.
Save the Children states:
“Children in Eastern Ukraine have already endured shelling and violence for the last eight years. Many have been displaced from their homes. Airstrikes and explosions have resulted in damaged essential services such as schools and hospitals. Two million people have crossed the borders from Ukraine into neighbouring countries since the 24th of February, including an estimated one million children.”
At the time of writing The GoldenPeaks Capital Foundation is supporting 10 different initiatives within and outside the Ukraine to help relieve the humanitarian crisis there. Save the Children is a core part of the Foundation’s strategy and we are delighted to contribute to their $19million fund to reach out to millions of deprived children and their families.
